For those applicants who do not fulfil the
formal English language requirements, MBS College offers, locally, English
language preparatory courses. MBS College is also a TOEFL test centre where
students can sit a computer based test.
There is also flexibility for mature
students and there is a process of recognition of prior learning and of working
experience.

2) Photocopy of id or passport or/and
student visa (for non EU students)
3) Original copy or certified copy by the
British Council of the Bachelors degree(s) or any other degree the student may
hold
4) Original or certified copy by the
British Council of English diploma(s) the student may hold

If the student’s proficiency in English is
shown differently, e.g. working experience under English speaking environment
or having English as a mother tongue, he/she is required to show evidence that
(e.g. employers letter)
5) 2 Reference letters sent straight to the
university concerned (for NTU degree programmes, the references should be
posted to MBS College, 84 Olympionikon str. 71305 Heraklion Crete, Greece).

What are the deadlines for applying?
For the Royal Holloway University of London
masters degree MSc in International Business the deadline is the 31st of
August.
For the Nottingham Trent University degrees
the deadline is the 9th of October.

In which language are the modules taught?
The degree programmes by Nottingham Trent
University are taught in both Greek and English. The rest of the programmes are
taught in English.

What is the average living cost per month?
Accommodation: 200€ - 400€
Other living costs (e.g. food, everyday
commodities): 500€ - 800€

What is the procedure for issuing a student visa and residence permit?
You first contact the Greek Embassy at your
country. A list of the embassies contact details is provided at the site of
the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In order to issue a student visa, the
documentation required is the following (relevant enquiries should be directed
to the Greek embassy concerned):
1) MBS College acceptance letter
2) Proven evidence that the applicant has
the necessary fund support required to study and live in Greece during his/her
studies. Depositing the money required in advance is what we recommend.
Otherwise provide legitimate evidence that the student will have the sufficient
fund support for living and studying in Greece for 3 years.
3) Written consent by parents if the
student is younger than 18 years old.
4) Evidence of clean criminal records.
5) Evidence of good health provided by
private or public hospital in the country the student comes from.
6) Insurance company contract, covering at
least 90 days - the period the student needs until his/her visa expires.
7) 2-4 colour photos
8) Proven evidence that the student speaks
English.
9) 30-50 €
For the residence permit the student would
need:
1) 4 passport type photos
2) Passport photocopy
3) Student visa photocopy
4) MBS College acceptance letter
5) Copy of health certificate issued by
Greek public hospital
6) Copy of insurance company contract
7) Copy of bank balance statement. Should
contain at least the amount of money needed in order to study and live in
Greece for 3 years.

Q:
Is there transportation to and from the college and of what type, i.e. train,
bus etc?
The students can be transported to and from
MBS College by the public bus (ask for details at MBS College or at 2810-226065
and 220795), taxi or private means. The distances relatively are small (15
minutes by foot from the city centre), so often students come by foot, bus,
bike.
Q:
Is it legitimate for non EU students to work in Greece during their studies?
Yes it is, but not more than 4 hours a day.
In order to do this, they need a special work permit issued in Greece.
Q:
Are non EU students allowed to work in Greece after they graduate?
In order to do this they need to issue a
new visa from the Greek embassy in their country, which requires an acceptance
letter by their future employer. After they arrive to Greece they need to issue
a work permit.
Q:
Can a student stop and then begin again his studies on a later date in the
future?
Only under special circumstances and with
the Nottingham Trent
University consent.
Q:
Can a student change his/her area of studies without losing the credits he/she
has already gained?
Only within courses of the same study area,
i.e. Business School, but still it remains subject to module prerequisites.

When do holidays start and end?
Christmas holidays begin around the
22nd of December and last for 2 weeks.
Easter holidays normally take place between
the 15th of April and 15th of May. Holidays here too last 2 weeks. In
2012 Easter holidays for students will begin around the 10th -
15th of April.
Summer holidays for most courses begin on
the first 10 days of June and end in the beginning of October.
MBS College campus is closed during Bank
holidays. The dates of these are as follows:
28th of October - National celebration
11th of November - Local celebration
17th of November - National

1st of May - Mayday
Q:
When should the student come to Crete?
Preferably the first visit for
accommodation and for viewing the environment and facilities should be in
August after the 15th (due to a Bank Holiday during which Greeks normally
take their summer holidays). If accommodation is settled, not more than a week
in advance is needed for preparation.

What will approximately be the student’s initial costs/expenses once they
arrive to Greece?
1) Accommodation: With monthly rent around
200-500 €, the student might need to pay the 2 first months in advance
